As a keen gameshot, fisherman & established chef for 30yrs, Ralph's passion for the great outdoors, and promoting fish & game to the public has led him in the direction of being known as 'The Wild Chef'. His style of cooking is raw, wild & passionate, and as much from 'field to fork' as can be. Ralph has published a game recipe book entitled 'Wild Chef 21 Seasonal Game Recipes' which is available via his websites (www.thewildchef.co.uk & www.butlerspantryderby.co.uk) & at game & food fairs throughout the country. Ralph is currently working in close co-ordination with the BASC (British Association of Shooting & Conservation) as their Midlands regional game chef, appearing at many game & country fairs through the year. He writes regular blogs & appears in show reels for The Field & Rural Life on-line TV Channel. Ralph also works closely with The Countryside Alliance in support of their Game to Eat campaign, and led a team of chefs to cook for Clarissa Dickson-Wright for the Cheshire Forest Hunt. He has demonstrated game dishes alongside Tim Maddams (from River Cottage), Mike Robinson (ITV's Countryfile) & Alan Coxon (from Birmingham to Bombey) & cooked dinner parties for Hilary Devey (Ex-Dragons Den & Secret Millionaire) at her palatial home in Derbyshire. Ralph is currently working with West Country Films and appears on their pigeon & crow shooting DVD's alongside 'The Cornish Countryman, Chris Green' cooking game 'in the wild' and on an estuary in -13 winds! In addition to being a demonstration chef, Ralph runs a successful bistro & event catering business 'The Butlers Pantry (Derby) Limited'. His team provide catering throughout the Country for weddings, charity balls and all private & corporate events, and are also available for private dinner parties.
