William Church

Born and raised in the Essex countryside, will has been fishing since the age of 7. He has a particular love of fly fishing in rivers, however is not averse to using just about any method for any fish in any water where there’s sport to be had. Will regularly fishes the Salisbury and District chalk streams, various hill lochs and salmon streams on the West coast of Scotland, and enjoys coastal sea fishing, from boat or land, by rod, net or pot. He can also be found on occasions on the Welsh and Scottish Dees, and the Sussex Ouse. He is as at home picking grilse from sun shrunk rivers as he is pulling crabs from pots, or spey casting on the Dee. Will is a keen cook, having a small fish and meat smoking enterprise; he enjoys hand building rods (for friends rather than commercially these days), and has some history of tying sub standard flies. Will classes himself as a fisher who shoots, rather than the other way round. During his time off from fishing, he enjoys stalking in the highlands, most types of game and rough shooting, sailing and also has a microbrewery.
