Shot for the Pot

Article written by 18 July 2013

Shot for the Pot is a fundraiser aimed at promoting and celebrating British wild game. Countryside Alliance members are invited to sign up now to host an event  involving  wild game and local British produce during the week, 27 October – 3 November.

Shot for the Pot is being run by the Countryside Alliance’s dedicated Game-to-Eat campaign which has had great success in promoting game over the past decade.

Events – for example a dinner or drinks party – can take any game-related form. All we ask is that guests are charged £10, to be donated to the Countryside Alliance to help promote this iconic wild British food. See www.gametoeat.co.uk for ideas and to sign up.

The Game-to-Eat website will have lots of supporting information for the week, including:

  • Articles introducing you to game if you are a beginner.
  • Our “where to buy game” database, which has helped thousands of people connect with their local butchers and game dealers.
  • Brand new recipes from various chefs and celebrities for supporters to try for the very first time over the week.
  • Game-related events happening all over the country during the week all raising money for the Countryside Alliance.
