“This is one of the best jackets I have tested and I am definitely going to keep on wearing it for the rest of the season!”
This was our Sporting Agents general consensus about the Musto Storm Jacket. Our lads have been wearing this jacket in the field and on the Moor. The weather out on the Moors is always unpredictable; the most threatening of skies can sometimes pass without conveying a single rain drop. On the contrary, glorious sunshine can soon transpire into the most torrential downpour. It’s therefore important that a Sporting Agent is kitted out with a jacket that is lightweight yet extremely waterproof. The Grouse season begins in August and therefore the temperature is naturally mild. It’s important that the jacket is not too thick as the user will find they are overheating rapidly whilst walking up often steep hills. However, this should not be detrimental to the waterproof technology of the jacket.
The Musto Storm jacket is fully waterproof, windproof and highly breathable utilising the ever popular GORE-TEX® technology. The GORE-TEX® in the storm jacket comprises two layer; the first contains microscopic pores which refuse water droplets from entering the fabric. The second layer houses large pores which allows perspiration to pass though the fabric making it exceptionally breathable – essential on warmer but still wet days.
Sporting Agent Will Robinson put this jacket to the ultimate test during three days torrential rainfall on a Northumbrian Moor. He agreed with Musto’s declaration that this jacket is non-restrictive. Will stated “The jacket was very comfortable with plenty of movement in the shoulders”. He went on to say “I really like the way the pockets are designed. They are more than capable of holding 25 cartridges and the hand warming pockets are perfect for their intended purpose”. Chris Maxted our other Sporting Agent agreed and reported from the North York Moors “This is the best waterproof jacket I have ever had”.
Musto pride themselves on making well-equipped jackets that are comfortable in the field. A high shaped collar and zipped hand warmer pockets are just a couple of these contributing features. Will agrees “When the weather really closes in the high collar, peaked hood and storm cuffs kept me exceptionally dry; and it really does rain when out on a West Northumberland Grouse Moor at 1700 feet and not a tree in sight!”.
These jackets are machine washable and quick drying.
